Literary Arts Theatre Camp
Summer Break Theatre Program
Instructor: Jill Geddes
For grades K-2
Monday-Friday, August 14-18, 9am – 12pm
Children will play acting games, sing songs, and actively be involved in the process of learning about characters and emotions whether they are acting out the Three Little Pigs or Elephant and Piggy Books. In this class, children are involved in how they see their book come to life through the study of characterization.
This is a workshop class to tap into your child’s creative side and learn about themselves and others while discovering some really great books and having a lot of fun!
Parents will be invited to come to a class, but there will not be an official performance – the class is simply a fun way to learn about books through acting, music and the joys of theatre! *Reading is not required
Jill Geddes has an extensive Musical Theatre background. Upon graduating from high school, she was cast in the role of Peron’s Mistress in Harold Prince’s National Tour of Evita and went on to star as Cinderella in Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine’s original National Tour of Into The Woods, Fantine in the National Tour of Les Miserables as well as many other roles. She studied at Indiana University School of Music and Boston University and teaches ukulele at The Academy and an early childhood program called Music Together. Her great love is the theatre and reading (specifically children’s literature) and is excited to combine the two into one class!
